Happy Birthday Nephew

Standard

My nephew’s birthday was last week and I sent him this card.  I thought the design and colors made a great masculine card. He called me to let me know he loved it!

That’s all that counts, right!?!  Winking smile

Happy Birthday

Standard

I created this card for one of my special friends, Karen.

(Front)

(Inside)

I used a Spellbinders die for the lattice backgrounds.  The bow on the front of the card is also a Spellbinders die.  The water colored  flowers were painted  with  Zig Clean Brush Markers. The Floral (Cosmos)stamp is by Technique Tuesday.  The doily behind the small gift bag is made by Cutter Bee (EK Success Brand).  The gift bag die is from AliExpress.  Flowers, bling, tag in gift bag and other papers are from my stash.

Sharing New Cards

Standard

Below are three cards I made using new dies from AliExpress and Wish.com.  I did not add any sentiments on the front/inside yet.  I am slowly adding to my card stash.

(The pale colors were not picked up in the photo as hoped.  I used pale pink for the card base and flowers.  And white cardstock for the floral border die.  It is so pretty in person.  I love the soft colors.)

Birthday Wishes

Standard

I have a childhood friend that I keep in touch with on special occasions.  Our fathers’ were childhood friends too.  And they were in the Army together.  When they married our Mothers’ became good friends.  Oh the fun we had growing up!   Oh she married a guy from my old neighborhood (small world).  They live in Delaware now and are loving it!

Side note:  She is exactly one week older than me.

I am going to spare you of all the details on how I made the card.  But feel free to ask me questions about the card and what I used to make it.  Lets just say that all elements were made from dies.  No stamping involved except for the sentiment inside.

Sympathy Card

Standard

Sympathy cards are so hard to make for me.  And we needed one for a good friend from North Carolina who has been farming land on Chuck’s Family property.

I tried everything I knew when taking the photo to reduce as much glare as possible.

I guess it would have been easier if I didn’t use gold foil card stock and gold washi tape Smile

I belong to Spellbinder’s Small Die of the Month Club.  And for the month of February I received 4 border dies.  I cut five borders from one of the dies out of gold card stock.  And laid  them evenly spaced on the card front.

I tried something new for me and cut a rectangle out of the front of the card.  Then I cut the “With Deepest Sympathy” Die from Wish.com  and placed it on the inside of the card.  I added a strip of gold washi tape on each side of the die since it was a little smaller than the rectangle die I used.  The “With Deepest Sympathy” die was cut from a very light pearlized gold card stock.

The photo does not do it justice but I hope you can imagine all the gold shades used.

Birthday Card

Standard

This is the birthday card I made for my husband.  It gets harder and harder for me to come up with a masculine design.  I tried something different where the design could be for both masculine and feminine depending on the choice of colors.

The background, vine panel, and birds were all water colored.  I used distress inks on the background.  And Prima metallic inks on the vine panel and birds.

I love the bird dies because they are dimensional.

The dies used came from Wish.com.  The Birthday sentiment was cut out using Simply Defined Reflections Adhesive Sheets in Matte Gold.

Side note:  I didn’t notice how crooked the panel is on one side until I saw the photo.  Oh these old eyes, lol.
